Since 1983 the Festival has acquired an international history and notoriety among festivals dedicated to young audiences.

The first edition of the International Film Festival of Young Audiences in Laon welcomed 8,000 spectators and ended it cruising altitude with an average of 30,000 spectators in Laon and in Aisne in 1988.

During these years, the Festival participated in the discovery of movies and film producers and has invited consecrated professionals.
